Don’t start the celebration yet, but Samsung, in a technical ruling over Apple, can once more sell the Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the European Union (EU). The battle over Samsung’s Galaxy Tab violating Apple’s design for the iPad is far from done though.

Windows Acer Iconia W500 Tablet First Look, the 10.1-inch W500 consists of a touch-screen slate and a separate keyboard dock. When combined, the two halves form something close to a traditional laptop. The W500 is $549 with Windows 7 Home Premium, or $619 with Windows 7 Professional. Both versions have 2GB of RAM and a 32GB SSD. Acer also has a dock less Android version, called the A500.

 Nothing very new was revealed at the event, but it was a great opportunity to get a closer glance at a slate that is a bit out of the ordinary when compared to the slew of other tablets rolling out this spring.
Dubbed as the “professional-grade” tablet, the PlayBook definitely fits in more as a business-friendly slate.
The BlackBerry PlayBook falls into the 7-inch tablet range alongside the original Samsung Galaxy Tab. When I first held the device, it immediately reminded me of the feel of the HP Slate. That’s mainly due to size and its professional-related apps, but the BlackBerry Tablet OS (which is partnered with Android) is much more graphic heavy.
However, one of the most outstanding features on the BlackBerry PlayBook is the video playback and the capacitive multi-touch display with its 1,024 x 600 resolution. It supports full HD 1080p video and a multitude of codecs thanks to the 1GB of RAM, a 1GHz processor and support for Adobe Flash 10.1. There are plenty of things to praise on the PlayBook, but it’s questionable how useful it will be for non-BlackBerry owners - especially given the e-mail situation.

This time, the iPad 2 is still launching in the U.S. first, but 26 additional countries will get it just two weeks later. In its initial press release about the iPad 2, Apple said the iPad 2 would be available in "many more countries around the world in the coming months."

HP unveiled the new TouchPad tablet today at their WebOS event. The device runs on an updated WebOS 2.1 and has a resolution of 1024 x 768. It weighs 1.5 pounds and is 13.7mm thick. Under the hood is a dual-core 1.2G Hz Snapdragon processor with a choice between 16GB and 32GB of internal storage. The standard WebOS card-like interface is still around, but it has been enhanced for the tablet, allowing users to group cards (apps, windows) together and multitask a bit easier than on the smartphone. It also features some social networking features and QuickOffice for light spreadsheet, document, slide show, or PDF editing. Beats Audio will also be included in the device. No word on battery life, but the Wi-Fi version of the TouchPad will arrive sometime this Summer for an undisclosed price. 3G and 4G versions are on the way sometime later in the year.
